Chemical properties:

Slightly viscous colorless to light yellow liquid. Eugenol like aroma, slightly light, sweet. Freezing point 4.5℃, melting point 5.5 ~ 6.5℃, boiling point 270℃. Soluble in ethanol and most non-volatile oils, insoluble in mineral oils, insoluble in glycerol and propylene glycol. Natural products exist in more than 60 kinds of essential oils such as citronella oil, ylang ylang oil and asarum oil.

Application:

1. Used in the production of spices, preparation of carnations and Oriental flavor, also used as isoeugenol modifier.
