Synthesis method:

Geranyl formate was synthesized by esterification method, using formic acid and geranyl alcohol as raw materials, esterified in the presence of anhydrous calcium chloride, and then neutralized, washed and dried. It can also be extracted from natural raw materials such as geranium oil and trumpet camellia oil.

Chemical properties:

Colorless transparent liquid, with fresh rose leaf aroma. Miscible with ethanol, ether, chloroform, petroleum ether, etc. Almost insoluble in water.

Uses:

1. It is used as a lifting agent in rose, rose and osmanthus which need fragrance. It is also suitable for lily of the valley, tuberose, nerola, fragrant myrrh, lavender and citrus cologne. It can also be used in the preparation of artificial geranium oil, orange leaf oil and lavender oil. At low concentration, the leaves have sweet fruit green and wood spice, suitable for apple, apricot, peach and citrus flavors.

2. This product has a fresh rose aroma. Can be used in rose, orange flower, lavender, Fou Qi, fragrant leaves and other fragrances, is also the necessary raw materials for the modulation of artificial rose oil or orange flower oil, and can be well blended with orange leaf oil, can be used to prepare soap, daily cosmetics flavor. This product has a strong irritating smell and should not be used in large quantities.
