Tomoxetine is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) with a structure similar to that of fluoxetine. Randomized, placebo-controlled trials in children and adults have confirmed that this product is effective in treating ADHD. An open-label, randomized, controlled trial found that the drug is comparable to methylphenidate in the treatment of ADHD, but this conclusion needs to be validated in more randomized, double-blind clinical trials.
