Pivalic acid is a very important chemical raw material used for the manufacture and preparation of adhesives, medicines, initiators, perfumes. |

1. Pesticides
Pivalic acid is used for the synthesis of pinacolone which can be used for the synthesis of various new types of bactericides, plant growth regulators and insecticides, such as triadimenol, diclobutrazole, triazolone, paclobutrazol, biloxazol, uniconazole, tebuconazole etc.
2. Mecical area
Pivaloyl chloride is used for the manufacture of dipivefrin which are widely used for the production of penbritin, amoxicillin, cefazolin etc.
3. Initiators
Pivaloyl chloride? is used for the manufacture of tert-butyl peroxypivalate which can produce free radicals, with working temperature low to -50oC, and features high efficiency, short induction period and short cycle time. In addition, it can be used as high-efficiency initiator.
4. Coatings
Pivalic acid is used for the manufacture of polyacrylic ester coatings which enjoy better luster and gloss retention compared with regular initiators.
5. Other applications
Pivalic acid ester can be used as perfume for shampoo and fancy soaps. It is also used for sensitive material, and as metal extractant, for wood preservation etc.
