Diisopropyl malonate is the intermediate of diisopropyl, a fungicide, rinderol.

Used as medicine and pesticide intermediates.

Production methods

The preparation method is adding malonic acid sodium in the reaction kettle, benzene, and isopropyl alcohol, in 60 ~ 70 ℃ and sulfuric acid on the esterification reaction of 3 ~ 4 h.After the reaction, the diisopropyl malonate crude product was cooled and pumped into the washing kettle for washing and alkaline cleaning. The material solution was separated from the separator and then the product was dissolute and distilled.
