Potassium hydroxide (chemical formula: KOH), commonly known as caustic potassium, white solid, soluble in water, alcohol, but insoluble in ether. It is easily hygroscopic and deliquable in air. It reacts with carbon dioxide to form potassium carbonate. So it will be used to absorb carbon dioxide.
