Details

Propylene Carbonate is soluble in water and carbon tetrachloride, miscible with ether, acetone, benzene, etc., and is an excellent polar solvent. In the battery industry, it can be used as an excellent medium for lithium batteries; it can be used as an efficient solvent to remove carbon dioxide from petroleum gas, petroleum cracking gas, oil field gas and synthetic ammonia raw material gas; it can be used as a synthetic fiber in the textile industry It can be used as a solvent for polymers in the polymer industry; it can be used as an environmentally friendly solvent in cosmetics; it can be mixed with isocyanate in a certain proportion as a high-strength adhesive for wood, etc.Widely used in epoxy glue, epoxy floor paint, polyurethane materials, high-end automotive paint thinner! Production method

1.Phosgene process raw propylene glycol and phosgene reaction, to produce chloroformate hydroxyl isopropyl ester, and then with sodium hydroxide to produce propylene carbonate, and then by vacuum distillation of the finished product. 2. Transesterification. 3. Chloropropanol method. 4. Propylene oxide and carbon dioxide synthesis method Carbon dioxide and propylene oxide react at 150-160℃, 5MPa to produce propylene carbonate ester. The finished product is obtained by decompression fractionation. The above methods have been industrialized, but the first three methods have high production costs and poor product quality, so they are gradually replaced by the fourth method. 5. Propylene oxidation and carbon dioxide synthesis. This method is a synthesis method developed in laboratory in recent years.

Use

This product can be used as an efficient solvent for removing carbon dioxide from liquefied petroleum gas, petroleum cracking gas, oilfield gas and synthetic ammonia raw gas. In the textile industry, it can be used as an auxiliary and color fixing agent for synthetic fibers; In the battery industry, it can be used as an excellent medium for lithium batteries; In the polymer industry, it can be used as a solvent for polymers.
