Description: 

Ethyl caprylate is a colorless transparent liquid, occasionally slightly yellow, with a pineapple like fragrance, and sweet. Boiling point 208.5℃. Insoluble in water, but soluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform, almost insoluble in propylene glycol. The azeotrope is formed with water, and the content is 18% at the boiling point of 98.25℃. It is prepared by heating caprylic acid and ethanol catalyzed by a small amount of concentrated sulfuric acid. Can be used as flavoring agent, used for orange aroma, strawberry aroma, pineapple aroma and other spices.

Application:
