Introduction:
β-bromo-phenylethane is an important intermediate for the synthesis of highly efficient bromo-based flame retardants polybromo-styrene, and is also commonly used in the preparation of organic synthesis intermediates. For example, β-bromophenethane can be used to prepare the intermediate 4-(4-phenylbutoxy) benzoic acid of Prelenast. As an anti-asthma drug, prelunast was first developed by the Japanese company Ono and launched in Japan in 1995, and in 1999, it was found to treat allergic rhinitis. Prelenast is a leukotriene C4/D4 receptor antagonist (lTRAs) with extremely low toxicity. It can selectively inhibit the activity of leukotriene multiskin in airway smooth muscle, and has almost no effect on arachidonic acid metabolic enzymes. At the same time, it has no antagonistic effect on acetylcholine and 5-hydroxytryptamine, and significantly inhibits lTC4, lTD4 and lTE4.
Application:
β-bromophenethane in medicine, can be used in the synthesis of insecticides and blood pressure agents; In industry, it can be used as a new flocculant and dispersant, an excellent fiber dyeing modifier, an antistatic agent for plastics, fibers and paper, a viscosity regulator in the production of photosensitive materials, an ion exchange resin and exchange film, and a gloss agent for electroplating.
Production method:
It is prepared by the reaction of phenyl ethanol with hydrogen bromide. The phenylethanol is heated to 110℃, and the hydrogen bromide is slowly introduced and the reflux reaction is carried out. At the end of the reaction, cool, wash with water, 10% sodium carbonate solution, and water in turn. After drying with anhydrous potassium carbonate, vacuum fractionation was performed and 97-99℃ (2.0kPa) fractions were collected. The yield was over 90%.
