Chemical properties: Chlorendic anhydride is white crystal. Melting point 231-235℃. Solubility (g/100g) : benzene 40.4, hexane 4.5, acetone 127.0, carbon tetrachloride 6.7, slightly soluble in water and hydrolyzed to chloropontic acid. 

Use: Chloropneumatic anhydride and chloropneumatic acid are reactive flame retardants, suitable for unsaturated polyester, polyurethane and epoxy resins, and also used as epoxy resin curing agent. The thermal deformation temperature of the epoxy resin products cured by the product is about 180℃, and the resistance is good, and chloropontic acid is also used as a dye intermediate and insecticide. It is also used as a flame retardant for fabrics.

Production method: It is prepared by the reaction of hexachlorocyclopentadiene with maleic anhydride. Press hexachlorocyclopentadiene and maleic anhydride to 1: The molar ratio of 1.1 is mixed in the solvent chlorobenzene, and after reacting at 140-145℃ for 7-8h, the reaction product is added to water for hydrolysis, and the hydrolyzed chloropontic acid obtained at 70℃ becomes an oil-like liquid, which is miscible with water when heated at 96-97℃, and becomes a chloropontic acid containing a crystal water (Hetacid[115-28-6]) after cooling. If the reaction product is crystallized with hot water and dilute acetic acid, and the monohydrate is dried at 100-105℃, chloropontic anhydride is obtained.
